EDITING BY SOLACE
How does it work?
When a Solace Photographer is unable to come to Children's Mercy Hospital, families may inquire with us about editing. After you complete the form below, you will be provided with a Dropbox folder via email. If you need help selecting photos to submit, we can assist you. Families may add up to 50 images to this folder. Solace will retouch all images in color & black and white, and return them in a professional, online gallery.
Who is this program for?
ANY family who has experienced the loss of a baby or child & would like their treasured images retouched.
Is there a cost?
Families referred to Solace Photography by Children's Mercy Hospital receive our services free of charge.
Tips to help capture this precious time
While we cannot be with you in person, we are so grateful to help you as you commemorate this time through editing. Do not put pressure on yourself to make perfect images; instead, focus on being present and letting those around you help. Families are asked to capture images on their personal devices. You will be able to make your Solace Editing Submission selections afterwards, so always better to air on the side of capturing more, and/or getting some duplicates. Soak in this time, that is what matters most.
DETAILS
We want to help you remember every perfect part of your sweet child. If possible, capture their hands & feet by themselves, or within your hands. Photos of your child solo, if possible, are also wonderful to have.
SPECIAL ITEMS
Children's Mercy is wonderful to provide blankets, hats etc. that will be wonderful to use. Additionally, if you have any personal or baby items you'd like included, please do. Stuffed animals, photos, foot prints, and even wedding bands may all be special to capture alongside your child.
SPACE & POSING
Every room, moment & timing is different. Simply put, doing what makes you the most comfortable in terms of interacting with your child is the most important. If natural light from a window is available, utilize that in lieu of overhead lights. A touch, a kiss, a snuggle, and including any loved ones present you'd like to, are all precious to have.
